What to Expect

New patients

When confirming your appointment, you will be offered to fill out our office forms online.

You are more than welcome to complete the forms in the office; however, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment so you do not delay your treatment.

If you are on medications and/or supplements, please be sure to include everything you are taking.
The first session lasts approximately 90 minutes so we can review your health history, where your current health resides, and craft a treatment strategy designed specifically for you. Follow-up visits generally last about an hour.

IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO BEFORE MY FIRST VISIT?

Please bring any information about your condition that you may have received from your other doctors such as X-rays, lab test, blood work, MRI's, etc. As with any medical visit, it's a good idea to write down questions you may have ahead of time and keep a running list so that you don't forget anything you'd like to address or ask.
Try to arrive 5 or 10 minutes before your appointment to give yourself a chance to relax.

If you can, wear loose clothing that can be pulled above the knees and elbows.

Try to avoid the following:

  • Eating a large meal within one hour of your appointment
  • Fasting for more than six hours before your appointment
  • Alcohol, tobacco, food or drinks that color your tongue (such as coffee) immediately prior to treatment
  • Vigourous exercise or sexual activity within the hour before treatment

INITIAL VISIT (90 min)

Based on your individual needs, your acupuncturist may choose to include:     cupping, moxibustion, Tui-Na massage, and herbs if deemed beneficial to your condition.

We are happy to contact your insurance to verify coverage for you prior to your first visit.

FOLLOW UP VISIT (60 min)

All follow-up appointments last approximately 1 hour and include any additional therapies as needed.
